If you have read the ABOUT TRAINBOYZ page you know that my first experience with model railroading started with a visit to my brother Mike’s when I was very young and got to play with his model trains. So when Great Scenic Railway Journeys released their segment on the Adirondack Senic Railroad this week I had to post it here as my brother Mike lives near this railroad and I do believe has ventured on it in recent years.
For me a bonus is seeing the Alco RS3 running on this railroad, there is just something about that engine!!! Besides I might have lived most of my life in the southwest but I was born in upstate New York, so hey I got to see a part of the country I am from but just don’t remember.
Great video! And filmed very recently. I’ve ridden this train twice now, most recently just last summer (2014). The Utica train station is as beautiful as depicted and the Adirondacks speak for themselves! I’ve seen the RS-3 but haven’t had the pleasure of it pulling either of the trains I rode. But, I did have the pleasure of meeting and talking to Conductor John English and Car Host Peter Kember…both great guys.
